Franklin County, Kentucky

Franklin county was created on 7 December 1794 from parts of Woodford, Mercer and Shelby counties. It and was named after the American inventor and statesman Benjamin Franklin. Frankfort is the capital city of the Commonwealth of Kentucky and the seat of Franklin County.
