Researchers of Jeremiah's family initially believed he was the youngest son of Gamiliel Bolton, a 2nd great grandson of Nicholas Boulton, the Immigrant. Although Jeremiah’s researchers are now seriously questioning Gamaliel as Jeremiah’s father, it is still thought highly possible that Jeremiah, who was born in Connecticut, and raised his family in New York, was descended from a Plymouth County or Bristol County Bolton who moved to Connecticut.
