Census US 1920*12 January 1920Cynthis and John E. Garrett were enumerated on the 1920 census taken on 12 January 1920 in Scoles Alley, Knoxville, Knox County, Tennessee. John was 28 years of age, able to read and write, and worked as a laborer in a cotton mill, and Cynthia was 23 years of age, and was able to read, and not to write. Census US 1940*10 April 1940Cynthis and John E. Garrett were enumerated on the 1940 census taken on 10 April 1940 at 1211 Alexander Street, Knoxville, Knox County, Tennessee. John was 47 years of age and worked as a laborer for the railroad. His income in 1939 had been $816.
