Olive was age 20, had married the previous year and was enumerated in her mother's household with her husband, Richard Blankenship, who was 22 years of age and worked as a derrick man in the oil well industry.7

(Neighbor) Estate and Land5 April 1723After Jonathan's neighbor John Bolton died, a special committee of five freeholders was appointed to determine a fair distribution of Bolton's Plymouth County real estate. The committee's task was completed on 5 April 1723 and included setting off the widow Sarah (Chesebrough) Bolton's Dower or Thirds of housing and lands, and also setting off an equitable portion or share of land for each of the couple's ten children. Following the distributions all six of the Bolton brothers, John, Samuel, Nicholas, Elisha, Joseph and Nathaniel owned lands that bordered Jonathan's.6,7 
(Lands Committee) Estate and Land25 September 1730He served on a special committee of five freeholders, including Joseph Alden, Joseph Edson, Eleazer Carver, Daniel Hudson and Jonathan Sprague, who were appointed by Judge Isaac Winslow on 15 June 1730 to inventory the land of the deceased, Mary Bolton, a single woman, late of Bridgewater, and to determine, in their best judgment, an equitable division of her real estate, which they estimated to be 6 acres. Their recommendation was submitted to the court on 10 August 1730, approved on 21 August 1730, and the lands were distributed in ten equal shares or lots on 25 September 1730 to Mary's mother, Sarah (Chesebrough) Bolton, and siblings, John Bolton, Samuel Bolton, Sarah (Bolton) Leonard, Elizabeth (Bolton) May, Nicholas Bolton, Elisha Bolton, Joseph Bolton, Nathaniel Bolton, and Abigail Bolton.8,9

(Second Wife) Relationship Note Who were Franklin Knepper and Elizabeth Knepper? It seems unlikely to us that Franklin's parents were Magdalena and Godfrey Knepper, or even Mary and Godfrey Knepper, as indicated on Franklin's Find a Grave memorial page. If the birth date of 1849 on his Find a Grave memorial is correct, it would mean he was born 16 years after Magdalena's last child and she would have been in her middle 50s at his birth. Franklin's Find a Grave memorial page indicates he was the son of Godfrey Knepper's second wife, Mary A. Sprankle. This, too, does not feel accurate to us. Franklin, if born in 1849, would have been about 4 years old when Mary A. and Godfrey Knepper married in 1853. And, also, Godfrey's first wife was still alive in 1849. Additionally, Franklin was not enumerated with the Godfrey Knepper family in 1850. While researching to identify his possible biological parents, we've looked at Mary and Ananias Knepper. Their one-year-old son, Franklin, was enumerated with them on the 1850 census in Osnaburg, Stark County, Ohio. Our issue with deciding that the two Franklins are the same Franklin, is that the Franklin of the Find a Grave Memorial died in 1858 at about age 9, and Ananias and Mary's Franklin was enumerated with them in 1860 and was 11 years old. Another wrinkle we've been thinking about is the two Elizabeths: Elizabeth Knepper, born about 1834 and a daughter of Magdalena and Godfrey Knepper, and Elizabeth Knepper, born about 1853 and a daughter of Mary and Ananias Knepper. Godfrey's daughter had married and was enumerated in 1860 with her husband and children, and the other Elizabeth, who was 7 years old, was enumerated on the 1860 census taken in Nimishillen, Stark County, Ohio, with her parents, Mary and Ananias Knepper. That Knepper family was enumerated on 18 June 1860. Here's the issue we're pondering: a possible second, or maybe a duplicate, young Elizabeth', who was 7 years old, was also enumerated that year in the Godfrey Knepper household. On the following day, 19 June, the Godfrey Knepper family was enumerated in Sugar Creek, Stark County, Ohio, which is about 50 miles away from Nimishillen. An Elizabeth Knepper, whom we suspect was not actually the daughter of Mary A. Sprankle and Godfrey Knepper, was enumerated as a member of their household. That Elizabeth, looks as though she might have been the same person as the Elizabeth in the household of Ananias Knepper, other than the fact that his Elizabeth was not reported to be attending school, and the other Elizabeth was. We note also that in the Huber-Hoover book, Mary A. Sprankle, a Huber descendant, was reported to have had only two children, Melissa and Minerva Knepper. Additionally, we do not know the relationship between these two Knepper families. If you can help us with any of this, please let us now...5,6,7,8,9,10,11,2,12

Census US 1860*19 June 1860Mary A. and Godfrey Knepper were enumerated on the 1860 census taken on 19 June 1860 in Sugar Creek, Stark County, Ohio. Godfroy was 64 years of age and a farmer with real estate valued at $5,200 and a personal estate valued at $754, and Mary was 44 years of age. Four children were enumerated with the couple in 1860. Lucy A., Godfrey's daughter from his first marriage, was 28 years of age. She had married in 1852, was not with her husband in 1860, and whether he had died or they divorced, we don't know. The couple's three young daughters, Elizabeth, Melissa and Minerva, were ages 7, 4 and 3 years, respectively. Although we wonder about the 7-year-old Elizabeth who had attended school within the census year. Godfrey already had a daughter Elizabeth with his first wife who was, in 1860, 26 years of age and married. The younger Elizabeth may have been a niece or other relative and not the couple's daughter. She was not mentioned in Godfrey Keppner's will in 1876. Godfrey's two married daughters, Sarah and Elizabeth, from his first marriage, with their husbands, John M. Amos and Adam Broiler, respectively, were enumerated in 1860 with their children in the next two previous households before the Keppner's on the same census page.9,14,12 
Census US 1870*14 June 1870Mary and Godfrey Knepper were enumerated on the 1870 census taken on 14 June 1870 in Sugar Creek, Stark County, Ohio. Godfrey was 74 years of age and a farmer with real estate valued at $4,100 and a personal estate valued at $600, and Mary was 57 years of age and keeping house. The couple's two youngest daughters. Melissa and Minerva, who were ages 13 and 11 years, respectively, were enumerated with their parents. Both had attended school within the census year.15 
Will*21 April 1876Her husband prepared his will dated 21 April 1876 in Stark County, Ohio, in which he named the following beneficiaries: his beloved wife, Mary, his deceased son, John, whose death left five heirs who were Godfrey's grandchildren, named Grant, William, John, Jennie and George, his daughter Sarah, who had married to John Amos, his daughter Lucy Ann, his son William, and his daughters, Melissa and Minerva. His will clarified that John's five children were to count as one heir, and that with the five other heirs Godfrey had named, there were a total of six heirs who should each have one equal share. His will went on to state that he had yet another daughter, Elizabeth, who was married to Adam Broiler, and that he had loaned her $305, and that the forgiveness of that debt was to be Elizabeth's total bequest. And to the Broliers son named Godfrey Broiler, his will bequeathed $500 plus the interest it earned until young Godfrey reached the age of 21 years, and willed that John Baltzly be appointed guardian for young Godfrey. His will appointed Jacob M. Trubey his sole executor.16 
(Wife) Death9 October 1877Mary became a widow when Godfrey Knepper died on 9 October 1877 at age 82.13 
Probate*3 December 1877Her husband's estate was opened for probate on 3 December 1877 and Jacob M. Trubey was appointed Executor, as requested in Godfrey's will. The estate papers, among other things, told us that beginning on 22 October 1877, newspapers and other methods of notification had been published and posted stating that an "Inventory and Notice of Appraisement" of the estate and property of Godfrey Knepper, late of Stark County, deceased, would be taken at his late residence in Sugar Creek township on 27 October 1877 and continue from day to day thereafter if necessary until completed. The executor informed the court on 3 December that, additionally, the widow Mary Knepper, William Knepper, Elizabeth Broiler, Melissa Trubey and Minerva Knepper, heirs-at-law who resided in Stark County, had all been duly notified according to law. (We found no mention of the deceased son John Knepper's widow, Sarah C. Knepper, or her five children who were heirs in the will, or of his daughters, Sarah Amos, or Lucy Ann Heckard, all of whom were residing in Indiana in 1877.)17 
Estate Distribution18 January 1879A page in her husband's probate package titled "Godfrey Knepper's Estate", dated 18 January 1879, was identified as the executor's partial accounting of receipts and payments to and from the estate. Partial payments were listed to the following heirs of the deceased: William Knepper (son), Sarah Amos (daughter), Mary Knepper (widow), Minerva (daughter), Melissa (daughter), and Lucy Ann "Rickard" (daughter.)18 
Estate Distribution20 May 1880Another page in her husband's probate package titled "Godfrey Knepper's Estate", dated 20 May 1880, was identified as the executor's partial accounting of receipts and payments to and from the estate. Payments from the sale of real estate were listed to the following heirs of the deceased: on 20 February 1879, to his widow, Mary Knepper, and his daughters, Minerva Knepper and Melissa Trubey; on 21 February 1879, to his daughter, Sarah Amos, his son, William G. Knepper, his daughter, Lucy Ann Heckard, and his daughter-in-law, Sarah C. Knepper, as guardian for her children; on 12 March 1880 to his daughter and son-in-law, Melissa and Nathan Trubey; on 5 April 1880 to his son, William G. Knepper; and deferred payments on 5 April 1880 to his daughters, Minerva Knepper, Sarah Amos, and Lucy Ann Heckard, and to his daughter-in-law, Sarah C. Knepper, guardian.19 
Estate Distribution*14 June 1881Another page in her husband's probate package titled "Godfrey Knepper's Estate", dated 14 June 1881, was identified as the executor's final accounting and included the final distributions, according to the deceased's will, to his heirs. It listed his following children and his grandchildren, with their court-appointed guardians: to F. H. Liverode, guardian for Knepper's grandson, Godfrey Broiler, son of his daughter and son-in-law, Elizabeth and Adam Broiler; to his daughter-in-law, Sarah C. Knepper, guardian for her five children, named in the will of their grandfather as the children of his deceased son, John; to his daughter and son-in-law, Melissa and Nathan Trubey; to his son, William Knepper; to his daughter and son-in-law, Lucy and David Heckard, their surname written as "Heckert"; to his daughter, Sarah Amos; and to his daughter and son-in-law, Minerva and Josiah Eberly, his name written as "John."20

Ebenezer Sprout1

(Inventory Preparer) Administration15 November 1710Francis Barker and Ebenezer Sprout prepared the inventory of the estate of Jabez Pratt before Administration on the estate was opened on 15 November 1710 in Plymouth County, Massachusetts Bay Province (New England), Jonathan Pratt and Joseph Stockbridge were appointed the administrators. The Letters of Administration document stated that Jabez, late of Duxbury, had died intestate and that the administrators were to prepare and provide an inventory of his estate to the Probate Court before 22 December. The inventory, valued at about £54.65s.23p had already been prepared, however, by Francis Barker and Ebenezer Sprout on the last day of October 1710, two weeks before administration was opened. The inventory identified books, wearing apparel, a horse, saddle and bridle, a pair of oxen, 3 cows, a swine, a yoke and chains and other tools for husbandry, hay and fodder, corn, salt, pewter, wooden vessels, 8 pounds of butter, iron vessels for housekeeping, chairs, a table, stools and lumber, a small pot, a debt from Joseph Stockbridge, a parcel of apple trees and a mention of 2 items at a Taunton estate. An additional note dated 15 Nov 1710, the same date the administrators were appointed, stated that Elizabeth (Cobb) Pratt, relict widow of the deceased, had refused to administer the estate. No mention of his and Elizabeth's children, all minors, was found in the probate documents.2
