(Possible Mother) Relationship Note Who were Franklin Knepper and Elizabeth Knepper? It seems unlikely to us that Franklin's parents were Magdalena and Godfrey Knepper, or even Mary and Godfrey Knepper, as indicated on Franklin's Find a Grave memorial page. If the birth date of 1849 on his Find a Grave memorial is correct, it would mean he was born 16 years after Magdalena's last child and she would have been in her middle 50s at his birth. Franklin's Find a Grave memorial page indicates he was the son of Godfrey Knepper's second wife, Mary A. Sprankle. This, too, does not feel accurate to us. Franklin, if born in 1849, would have been about 4 years old when Mary A. and Godfrey Knepper married in 1853. And, also, Godfrey's first wife was still alive in 1849. Additionally, Franklin was not enumerated with the Godfrey Knepper family in 1850. While researching to identify his possible biological parents, we've looked at Mary and Ananias Knepper. Their one-year-old son, Franklin, was enumerated with them on the 1850 census in Osnaburg, Stark County, Ohio. Our issue with deciding that the two Franklins are the same Franklin, is that the Franklin of the Find a Grave Memorial died in 1858 at about age 9, and Ananias and Mary's Franklin was enumerated with them in 1860 and was 11 years old. Another wrinkle we've been thinking about is the two Elizabeths: Elizabeth Knepper, born about 1834 and a daughter of Magdalena and Godfrey Knepper, and Elizabeth Knepper, born about 1853 and a daughter of Mary and Ananias Knepper. Godfrey's daughter had married and was enumerated in 1860 with her husband and children, and the other Elizabeth, who was 7 years old, was enumerated on the 1860 census taken in Nimishillen, Stark County, Ohio, with her parents, Mary and Ananias Knepper. That Knepper family was enumerated on 18 June 1860. Here's the issue we're pondering: a possible second, or maybe a duplicate, young Elizabeth', who was 7 years old, was also enumerated that year in the Godfrey Knepper household. On the following day, 19 June, the Godfrey Knepper family was enumerated in Sugar Creek, Stark County, Ohio, which is about 50 miles away from Nimishillen. An Elizabeth Knepper, whom we suspect was not actually the daughter of Mary A. Sprankle and Godfrey Knepper, was enumerated as a member of their household. That Elizabeth, looks as though she might have been the same person as the Elizabeth in the household of Ananias Knepper, other than the fact that his Elizabeth was not reported to be attending school, and the other Elizabeth was. We note also that in the Huber-Hoover book, Mary A. Sprankle, a Huber descendant, was reported to have had only two children, Melissa and Minerva Knepper. Additionally, we do not know the relationship between these two Knepper families. If you can help us with any of this, please let us now...2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10

Ananias was 34 years of age and a lawyer with real estate valued at $900 and a personal estate valued at $200, and Mary was 32 years of age. Four children were enumerated with the couple in 1860. Franklin and Elizabeth were ages 11 and 7 years, respectively, and Eli and Mary Ann were ages 5 and 2 years, respectively.4

An Ellen was enumerated with the family as a 77 year old widowed daughter. While this was obviously a mistake, this researcher is unable to determine whether Ellen was actually a relative of the Hinds family or should have been enumerated with the next family listed.2 
Census England 1891Mary A. (__?__) and Robert Hinds appeared on the 1891 census in the Civil Parish of Worsley, Ecclesiastical Parish of Christchurch, Newton, Lancashire, England. Robert was 43 and Mary A. was 47, and their four children resided with them. Mary L. was 11, Walter T. was 8, Fanny was 7 and Margaret E. was 5. Emily Venables was enumerated as a visitor in home at the time of the census.1

Alfred was born in North Carolina and all the other Dixons on the page were born in Tennessee.1 
Census US 1860*14 July 1860Priscilla and David Dixon were enumerated on the 1860 census taken on 14 July 1860 in Union Township, Iron County, Missouri. David was 58 years of age and a farmer with a personal estate valued at $450, and Priscilla was 54 years of age and could not read or write. Eight children were enumerated with the couple in 1860. Stephen was 23 years of age and a farmer; Barbara was 21 years of age and could not read or write; Sarah, Nancy J., Rachel and Serena were ages 19, 17, 15 and 11 years, respectively; David was age 9 and Consaria was 7 years old. The Dixon's married daughter Mary, who was recorded as Polly with her husband, Enoch DeBoard and their two young sons, were enumerated in the next household on the same census page.2 
Census US 1870*22 June 1870Priscilla, who was recorded as Drusilla, and David Dixon were enumerated on the 1870 census taken on 22 June 1870 in Township 31, Range 4 East, Iron County, Missouri. The census taker spelled their surname "Dickson". David was recorded as 60 years of age and a farmer with real estate valued at $100 and a personal estate valued at $200. Everyone in the family was recorded as born in Missouri although, if other census records are correct, only Matilda, their youngest, had actually been born there. David and Priscilla were enumerated with four of their children in 1870. Serena, who had married eight years earlier, was likely visiting her parents. Her name was recorded as "Rena", she was 21 years of age and at home. Her two young sons were not with her. David was age 19 and at home; the daughter who was "Consaria" on the 1860 census was "Conrad" on the 1870, and was 16 years old and at home; and Matilda was 7 years old and at home. No one in the household could read or write except the father David. It appears from the location information that David and Priscilla, as well as their daughter and son-in-law, Mary and Enoch DeBoard, may have moved houses since the 1860 census. Again, though, the two households were enumerated next to each other on the 1870 census.3

Newcomb's conformity was certified and he took the Oath of Allegiance on 6 April 1635.1

Whereby the said Charles Vipont devised all his real estate and leasehold interest in the counties of Dublin and Cavan, and also all his real estate interest in Church Street and Francis Street in the city of Dublin unto his trustees, the Reverend Bigoe Henzell of the town of Drogheda, Graves Chamney and John Bayly, of the towns of Platin and Shrubs, Esq., respectively, and to the survivors and survivor of them, and to the heirs of such survivor, to the uses after mentioned.

That is to say, to pay to unto Mrs. Mary Stiles, his housekeeper in Hampton Court in the county of Middlesex, £150 yearly, payable half yearly, to commence from his death, and to Rachel (__?__) Watson of Summerhill in the county of Dublin, widow, 20 guineas payable every half year to commence from the time of his death, and to apply a sufficient part of the issues and profits for the maintenance and education of Philip, the son of the said Mary Stiles, till he attains the age of 21 years. And upon his attaining the age of 21 years, and securing the payments of the aforesaid annuities, he directs his said trustees to convey all his said estates to the said Phillip and his heirs forever.

And if the said Phillip should die before he attains the age of 21 years, the said Charles Vipont directs his said trustees to convey the said real and freehold estates unto his kinsman the said Reverend Bigoe Henzell and his heirs forever, on his securing the payment of the aforesaid annuities.

And after devising several pecuniary legacies, he bequeathed all the residue of his real and personal estates unto the said Bigoe Henzell, Mary Stiles and William Faden of London, to be by them equally divided between Anne and Jane, the daughters of the said Mary Stiles, to be paid to them at their respective ages of 21 years or days of marriage which should first happen, and directed that a sufficient part of the interest and produce thereof might be applied for their maintenance and education, and if either said Anne and Jane should happen to die before marriage or age of 21 years, he directed her share _____ dying to be paid to the daughter of the said Bigoe Henzell.

And of his will, appointed said Bigoe Henzell, Mary Stiles and William Faden executors and guardians of the said Philip, Anne and Jane which said will was signed, sealed, published and declared by the said Charles Vipont in the presence of Gregory Byrne and James Archbold of the city of Dublin, merchants, and Matthew St. Leger, clerk to the said Gregory Byrne. The memorial was duly executed by the said Bigoe Henzell in the presence of, and is witnessed by, Christopher Abbott the younger and Clement Moore, both of the city of Dublin, gentlemen. Bigoe Henzell signed and sealed in the presence of Christopher Abbott Jr. and Clement Moore. The memorial was registered in Dublin on 4 April 1778.1 
Deed Memorial*1 January 1787A memorial of an indented deed dated 1 January 1787 was made between Philip Vipont of Jamestown, County Dublin, Esq., of the one part and Rachel (__?__) Watson of Summerhill in the county of Dublin, widow, of the other part.

Which recited that Charles Vipont late of Jamestown aforesaid Esq. deceased, died on or about the 27th of February 1778 having made his last will dated 25 August 1777 whereby, among other things, divided and bequeathed to the said Rachel Watson 20 guineas every half year during her life to commence at the time of his death.

And recited that the said Charles Vipont, among other premises, devised the houses and premises herein after mentioned to certain trustees in trust for said Philip.

And to secure to said Rachel her said annuity, and said trustees in pursuance thereof, did by deeds of lease and release grant and convey other lands and premises, the houses and premises herein after mentioned, unto said Philip Vipont by which said deed, and in pursuance of said will, and also in consideration of 5 shillings to said Luke Vipont paid by said Rachel Watson, did grant and confirm to said Rachel Watson one annuity yearly rent charge or sum of £45,10s to be yearly issuing and to be chargeable upon all that front house or tenement situate on the east side of Francis Street in the county of Dublin, known by the Blackmoor's head formerly possessed by William Harley, deceased, containing in front to said street 15 feet, 7 inches and in depth 24 feet with all appurtenances thereunto belonging, and also all that back room adjoining to the back of the said William Harley's shop, and also formerly possessed by said William Harley by virtue of a lease therein recited. And also all that back house or tenement situate on the east side of Francis Street aforesaid wherein Samuel Cooper, deceased, formerly dwelt, bounded as therein mentioned with all appurtenances thereunto belonging.

To hold the said annuity unto the said Rachel Watson for the term of her natural life payable half yearly on every 27th of February and 27th of August. In which deed is contained a clause of distress and other clauses.

The deed and memorial were perfected and signed by both parties in front of witnesses and the memorial was registered on 20 September 1789.2
