It had been four months since the death of their mother, and their father, James Hall, was enumerated as a widower, and was alone on a farm in Phillips County, Kansas.1 
(Sister) IllnessHer sister, Daisy, became quite sick while living in Blue Springs, Gage County, Nebraska, and, unable to improve, she traveled to their father in Kansas thinking the change might be helpful for her health.6 
(Sister) Death27 April 1902Her sister Daisy's illness did not improve and, after much suffering, she died on 27 April 1902 at their father's home four miles east of Woodruff, Phillips County, Kansas, at age 27. A funeral was held there the following day and her remains were sent to Blue Springs, Nebraska for burial. Neither of her two obituaries, one in Kansas and the other in Nebraska, mentioned their father by name, or her sisters.7,6,8

(Daughter) Marriage30 May 1905Five years after the death of her mother, her father married a second time on 30 May 1905 to Nettie Faubion, who was divorced and had custody of one of her two sons.10,11 
(Daughter) Census US 191019 May 1910Minnie was enumerated on the 1910 census taken on 19 May 1910 in the household of her father and stepmother, Nettie and James Hall, in Fanning, Scotts Bluff County, Nebraska. Minnie, who was recorded by the census taker as "Nettie", was 14 years old and had attended school within the census year.12

Ralph was 32 years of age and worked for wages as a farm laborer, and Bertha was 28 years of age. They rented their home and were both able to read, write and to speak English. Their four children, two from each of their previous marriages, were enumerated with them in 1920. Beulah and Leroy Hall were ages 9 and 6 years, respectively, and Harry and Treasel Harrison were ages 8 and 7 years, respectively. All four of the children had attended school within the census year. We note that Leroy Hall had been recorded by the census taker, incorrectly, with the surname Harrison.8 
Divorce*April 1925 In April 1925, Bertha K. Hall filed suit for divorced from Charles R. Hall in the superior court of Indianapolis, Marion County, Indiana.9

Ralph was 41 years of age and a truck driver working on his own account, and Alice was 40 years of age and worked for wages as a stenographer in an office. Ralph had been age 23 at his first marriage and Alice had been 18 years old when she married for the first time. They owned their house, which was valued at $3,500 and was not on a farm. Enumerated with the couple in 1930 was Ralph's son from his first marriage, Leroy, who was 16 years old and worked as a salesman in a department store. Everyone in the Hall household was able to read, write and to speak English.14

Lucinda, whose surname might have been "Hall" was transcribed by Ancestry as "Hill". She was 15 years old. And Lewis, might have been "Hall" and also transcribed as "Hill", was 13.2 
Census US 1870*6 August 1870Abigail and Samuel Hall were enumerated on the 1870 census taken on 6 August 1870 in Millwood, Lincoln County, Missouri. Samuel was 61 years of age and a farmer with real estate valued at $1,500 and a personal estate valued at $1,000. Abigail was 56. Amanda Kirkheart, age 23, resided with the couple as a housekeeper. Abigail's nephew Benjamin F. Heaton, his wife Frances, with their four children had recently relocated from Illinois to Missouri and in 1870 were enumerated in the next household on the same census page.4 
Census US 1880*12 June 1880Abigail and Samuel Hall were enumerated on the 1880 census taken on 12 June 1880 in Millwood, Lincoln County, Missouri. Samuel was 71, a farmer, and could neither read nor write. Abigail was 67. Residing with the couple in 1880 was Susan Connelly, age 44, who worked as a housekeeper and her son Lewis, age 14, who was a laborer. Amanda Kirkheart, who had resided with the Halls in 1870 as a housekeeper was, in 1880, married to Thomas Lusby and living with their family in the next household on the census page.5
