In his Morse-Chickering Correction article, the author acknowledged that the information he had relied upon had come from two secondary sources and that further research had convinced him that "it is most doubtful if Annas, wife of John Morse, was a Chickering."2,3

Joseph Johnson was the brother of Noah's first wife and Joseph Morse was Noah's 2nd cousin and also the father-in-law of Noah's daughter Experience.11 
Guardianship*23 June 1719 On 23 June 1719, Noah's father-in-law, Nathaniel Johnson of Pontefract, New London County, Connecticut, which later became Pomfret and, after 1726, was in Windham County, paid bond of £200 to the judge of the probate court in Middlesex County, Massachusetts, in order to take upon himself the obligation of being appointed guardian for Jemima Morse, Hephzibah Morse, Experience Morse and Cyprian Morse, his four grandchildren by Noah and his first wife Mary (Johnson) Morse, Nathaniel's daughter.12,8 
Inventory*25 June 1719The Inventory of the estate of Noah Morse, late of Sherborn, was completed and appraised by Noah's 1st cousin Eleazer Morse and two others on 25 June 1719. It was sworn to by Abigail Morse, Noah's widow and one of the administrators of his estate, and filed with the Judge of Probate in Middlesex County. Noah's estate of real and personal property was valued at £150.11 
Probate7 July 1719Noah's widow Abigail Morse, Joseph Morse and Joseph Johnson, all of Sherborn, paid bond of £200 to the Judge of Probate in Middlesex County on 7 July 1719 obligating themselves jointly and separately as Administrators for the estate of Noah Morse, late of Sherborn.11 
Final Accounting*20 July 1720 On 20 July 1720, Noah's widow and administrator Abigail Morse submitted an itemized accounting of £38, 14s, 8p, reporting that to be the total amount of all the debts paid against the estate, to the Judge of Probate in Middlesex County.11 
(Deceased) Probate Agreement11 January 1729/30Abigail Morse, widow and Administrator of the estate of Noah Morse, late of Sherborn, Middlesex County, Massachusetts Bay Province (New England), and Nathaniel Johnson, grandfather and court appointed guardian of Noah's four children by his first wife Mary (Johnson) Morse, presented their agreement regarding the distribution of the remaining balance of the deceased's estate to the Middlesex County probate court judge for approval. It was approved on 11 January 1729/30. The agreement divided the remaining balance of £54, 18s, and 6p between his widow, who received one-third or £18, 6s, and Noah's children. The deceased left a total of five children, four by his first wife and one by his widow, Abigail Morse. Each of the four daughters, Jemima Morse, Hephzibah Morse, Experience Morse and Abigail Morse, the widow's child, received £6, 2s, 3 farthings apiece and Cyprian Morse, as the oldest son, received a double share of £12, 4s, 2p. The widow and administrator Abigail Morse was directed to give their shares to each of the children separately, or to their lawful guardians. If any further adjustment in the estate was to be made, Abigail was to deduct it proportionately from each of their shares and to take receipts.11,13

Injury*18 October 1904Her husband, Thomas, was badly injured on Tuesday afternoon, 18 October 1904, when he was hit by the south bound train between New Maysville and Hawthorn, Pennsylvania. The newspaper reporting the accident expressed wonder that he was not killed. He worked as a boiler maker and was traveling to Verona on a pass which was punched at Falls Creek. How he got off the train was not known. He was not a drinking man, but was known to be a somnambulist or sleep walker. It was thought that he might have left the train while sleeping and sat down on the ties, where he was hit. He was taken to the Odell Hotel in New Bethlehem, where his wounds were dressed. He was expected to recover after a short time, minus two fingers.1,3 
(Wife) Death9 June 1906Frances became a widow when Thomas J. Woods died on 9 June 1906 at age 38. The sad story surrounding his death was published in The Pennsylvania Grit, Williamsport, Pennsylvania, on Sunday, 17 June 1906, on page 17, and was transcribed and included on the Find a Grave Memorial page for his wife, Frances (Mosemiller) Woods. We are very grateful to the people who shared the information.

From St. Marys: "Last Saturday the body of a man was found in the Clarina River in Mill Haven, three miles above Ridgway by an Italian laborer. The body was found lodged on a rock with head and feet in the water. The man was thought to have been dead a week owing to the decomposed state of the body. Nothing was found which would lead to his identification except that two fingers were off of the left hand and a key and chain found on his person. His hat and coat which contained a pass book were missing. As the body could not be identified, it was buried by the county authorities at Ridgway. From the description given of the man found, it was thought to be that of Thomas J. Woods, of St. Marys, and upon investigating it was found that the key and chain found on his person was his property. This morning the remains were dug up, and the body was identified by relatives. Mr. Woods had left St. Marys on May 19, nearly four weeks ago, and for the past two weeks his whereabouts were not known. He was aged 38 years, and is survived by a widow and four small children, who reside here. He was a boiler maker by trade and was employed as a boiler maker at the P. S. & M. R.R. shops. The remains were brought to St. Marys Saturday afternoon at 3:30 and interred in the Catholic cemetery."2,1
