It is believed that the three oldest daughters were born in Duxbury, but the early records of both the town and the church of Duxbury were burned.8,9 
Relocation*20 August 1647Mary and John Maynard had moved, and were identified as " of Boston" in a sale of land on 20 August 1647.2 
Death*She probably died in Boston not long after the birth of her twins, as her husband married again after 30 August 1650. Mary would have been less than 30 years of age when she died.10

Axie was 18 years old, and able to read, write and speak English. She was recorded as a Boarder in the Hiner home, which was on a farm, and worked as a servant.2 
Marriage*20 April 1902She married first, as his first wife, Walter I. Barton, son of Doctor M. Barton and Emma B. Christopher, on 20 April 1902 in Grant County, Indiana.4,5 
Divorce*Axie and Walter separated, and were likely divorced about the same time their son was born in 1902. Axie married her second husband in September 1903, and Walter married his second wife about that same time. Our research indicates that their son, Waldo, was raised by his maternal grandparents, and may have never lived with either parent.6,7,8,9 
Marriage*28 September 1903She married second, as his second wife, Charles A. Crandall, son of Andrew J. Crandall and Emaline Boswell, on 28 September 1903 in Grant County, Indiana. Charles was divorced, 34 years of age, and had three children from his first marriage, and Axie was also divorced, 22 years of age, and had one son from her first marriage who was being raised by his maternal grandparents.6 
Divorce*1907Axie and Charles separated, and were likely divorced by 1907. Axie would marry a third time in July of 1908, and Charles would marry a third time in September of 1908.10,11 
Marriage*4 July 1908She married third, as his second wife, Robert R. Stanton, son of Zebulon Stanton and Eliza Wiley, on 4 July 1908 in Grant County, Indiana. Robert was a widower with five young children ranging in age from 14 years to age 3, and Axie had been divorced twice and had three children, a son from her first marriage who was 5 years old and two daughters, ages about 3 and 2 years, from her second.12,10 
Divorce*Axie and Robert were divorced shortly after their marriage, and we don't believe Robert ever married again. Axie did marry, for the fourth time, in August of 1919.13,14,15 
Census US 1910*14 April 1910Axie Stanton and her daughter, Mary A. Crandall, were enumerated in the household of Aaron W. and Jennie Brelsford on the 1910 census taken on 14 April 1910 between Avenues 1 and 2, Mill Township, Grant County, Indiana. Axie was 28 years of age, divorced, and worked for wages as a House Servant. She had given birth to three children, all of whom were living, and she was able to read and write. Her daughter, Mary A. Crandall, the younger daughter of her second husband, Charles A. Crandall, was 4 years old and enumerated with her. Axie's eldest child, Waldo E. Barton, who was 7 years old in 1910, the son of her first husband, Walter I. Barton, was being raised by his maternal grandparents, Missouri and Leander Steele, who, in 1910, lived in Jonesboro, Grant County; and Axie's third child, Leona Crandall, who was 5 years old in 1910 and also a daughter of Axie's second husband, Charles A. Crandall, was probably with her father and half-siblings, although we have not yet been able to identify Leona or her father on the 1910 census.14,1 
Marriage*2 August 1919She married fourth, as his second wife, John Cohee, son of William L. Cohee and Elizabeth David, on 2 August 1919 in Grant County, Indiana.15 
Census US 1920*8 January 1920Axie and Elmer Cohee were enumerated on the 1920 census taken on 8 January 1920 at 1145 Washington Street, Marion, Grant County, Indiana. Elmer was 50 years of age and worked for wages as a Carpenter in an Iron Foundry, and Axie was 38 years of age. They rented their house. Lucille Cohee, Elmer's daughter from his first marriage, and Mary Crandall, a daughter from Axie's second marriage, were enumerated with them in 1920. Lucille was 17 years old and reported having no occupation, and Mary was 14 years old and worked as a Mangle Operator in a Laundry. Everyone in the Cohee household was able to read, write and speak English.16
