(Son-in-Law) Social NewsJanuary 1889From an item published in the East Oregonian newspaper, we learned that Emma McClure, who was identified as Mrs. J. R., and her daughter, Charlotte Whitbeck, who was identified as Mrs. P. B., both of whom lived in Echo, Umatilla County, Oregon, went to Pendleton, Umatilla County, Oregon, in January 1889 on a visit to friends. They were happily surprised to find the Edwin S. Minar family there who had just arrived from old Iowa. Edwin's wife, Mary Jane (McClure) Minar, was a sister of J. R. McClure, and the Minar's son, William, was contemplating starting a business in Pendleton. He was a highly skilled marble cutter.9 
Census US 1900*20 June 1900Charlotte and Phillip Whitbeck were enumerated on the 1900 census taken on 20 June 1900 in Justice Precinct 3, Ellis County, Texas. Phillip was 53 years of age and a farmer, and Charlotte was 43 years of age. They owned their farm with a mortgage, had been married for 22 years and Charlotte had given birth to five children, four of whom were living Three of their children were enumerated with their parents in 1900. Pearl was 17 years old, a student, and had attended school for six months of the census year; and Orville and Joel were ages 14 and 9 years, respectively, were students and had both attended school for three months of the census year. Everyone in the Whitbeck household were able to read, write and to speak English.11 
(Husband) Deathbefore 1910Phillip became a widower when Charlotte Whitbeck died before 1910, probably in her 40s or early 50s. Phillip was enumerated in 1910 as a widower.12

The deed was signed, sealed and delivered in the presence of Benjamin White, Justice of the Peace and recorded in Suffolk County on 31 October 1765 by Ezekiel Goldthwait, Registrar2

On the same date, Edward Hircom, Jonathan Nurse and William Bolton, all yeomen of Reading, Middlesex County, Massachusetts paid the sum of five hundred pounds as bond and were appointed appraisers of the estate of John Bolton late of Andover in the County of Essex in the province of Massachusetts, who died intestate.5,1
