His will began with gifts to his son-in-law Samuel Deering, granddaughter Bethiah Deering, to his daughter Abigail and son-in-law Joseph Adams and their son Joseph. The rest of his estate he gave to his wife and their son John, his wife to have all the use of it while she lived and after her death John to have it all with the exception of two cows that Margaret could dispose of as she wished at her death. The remaining animals, Gregory's horse, two oxen, one cow and one steer were bequeathed to John.2,3,4

Aaron was 25 years of age, worked as a lime stone quarryman, although he had been unemployed for five months of the census year, and Mary was 32 years of age and worked in a boarding house. They rented their house, were both able to read, write and speak English, had been married for three years and Mary had given birth to one child, a daughter Flossie who was not quite 2 years old, and was enumerated with her parents in 1900. Five members of the couple's extended family were also enumerated in their household in 1900. Aaron's widowed grandmother, Mrs. Celia Murphy, was 68 years of age, had given birth to seven children, three of whom were living, and was not able to write, although she was able to read and speak English. Aaron's brothers, Herman E. Page, William F. Page and Ernest F. Page, were all single and able to read, write and speak English. Herman was 22 years of age and worked the full census year as a lime stone quarryman; William was 20 years old, had been unemployed for one month of the census year and worked as a gas works laborer; and Ernest was 18 years old, had been unemployed for three months of the census year and worked as a gas works laborer. Aaron's 1st cousin, William Dabbs, was 30 years of age, was able to read, write and speak English, had been unemployed for three months of the census year and worked as a lime stone quarryman. William had been married for five years, although he was enumerated without his wife. The final member of the Page household in 1900 was a lodger. Morris Callahan was 41 years of age, a widower, had been born in Ireland and immigrated to the United States when he was 10 years old, was not able to write, although he was able to read and speak English. Morris had been unemployed for one month of the census year and worked as a lime stone quarryman.5

Charles, Nany, Martha and Mary had all attended school within the year.3

Page of the County of Allen and State aforesaid of the other part, Witnesseth that in and for the consideration of money heretofore received and $1.00 in hand paid, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, we have bargained and sold and by these presents do bargain, sell and convey to the said John H. Page, all of our right, title and interest whatsoever to a certain tract of land on Peters Creek whereon James D. Carver now lives, it being the survey that William Carver owned in his life time, and bounded by the lands of John Lewis, Benjamin Littrell, Alexander L. Devasher and George W. Page, and the Creek. To have and to hold to the said Page and his heirs forever, and we bind ourselves, our heirs and executors to warrant and defend the title to the said land against the claim of all and every person or persons whatever. In testimony whereof we have hereunto set our hands and seals the day and date above written.

The signatures of both Robert Woodcock and Susan Woodcock were sealed with their marks, and the deed was recorded in Barren County, Kentucky on 21 March 1844.5

Page of the County of Allen and State aforesaid of the other part, Witnesseth that in and for the consideration of money heretofore received and $1.00 in hand paid, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, we have bargained and sold and by these presents do bargain, sell and convey to the said John H. Page, all of our right, title and interest whatsoever to a certain tract of land on Peters Creek whereon James D. Carver now lives, it being the survey that William Carver owned in his life time, and bounded by the lands of John Lewis, Benjamin Littrell, Alexander L. Devasher and George W. Page, and the Creek. To have and to hold to the said Page and his heirs forever, and we bind ourselves, our heirs and executors to warrant and defend the title to the said land against the claim of all and every person or persons whatever. In testimony whereof we have hereunto set our hands and seals the day and date above written.

The signatures of both Robert Woodcock and Susan Woodcock were sealed with their marks, and the deed was recorded in Barren County, Kentucky on 21 March 1844.6

Henry was 19 years old and working as a farmer; Sallie, James and Martha were ages 16, 13 and 12 years, respectively, and had all attended school within the census year; and Willa, whose name was recorded as "Nellie" by the census taker, was 4 years old.4

Only their youngest daughter, Willie M., was enumerated with her parents. She was 13 years old and had attended school within the census year.5
