Mitchell's Early Bridgewater History states that the Eunice Leach who married William Keith in 1767 was the daughter of Benjamin and Hepzibah Washburn. However, William Keith's wife Eunice Leach was born, according to her noted age at death, about 1749 and Hepzibah (Washburn) Leach, who died in 1750, would have been in her mid to late 60s and probably past her child-bearing years by 1749.1

Land Records*22 February 1730/31Jonathan Washburn of Bridgewater purchased land in Bridgewater for the sum of £40 on 22 February 1730/31 from William Leonard and his wife Sarah (Bolton) Leonard, Michael May and his wife Elizabeth (Bolton) May, Nicholas Bolton and Joseph Bolton, all of Bridgewater who had, a few months earlier, received the land as heirs in the distribution of their deceased sister Mary Bolton's estate. Josiah Edson and Sarah Edson witnessed the signatures of the Boltons and their husbands on 22 February 1730/31 and the deed was recorded in Plymouth County on 18 May 1761. It described the property as four tenths part of their sister Mary's real estate, being the fourth, fifth, sixth and seventh shares as described, with the details of quantity and bounds, in the earlier settlement document for the division of Mary Bolton's estate on file with the Judge of Probate.

The settlement document stated that the fourth share had been distributed to Nicholas Bolton and contained about 3/4 of an acre of land lying on the south side of the share distributed, and not included in this sale, to his brother Nathaniel Bolton. The bounds of Nicholas’ share began at the south-east corner at a stake and heap of stones, and from there ranged north 56 degrees west 16 rods to a stake and heap of stones, and from there ranged north 64 degrees west 30 rods and1/2 to a stake and heap of stones, and from there ranged south 30 degrees west 5 rods to a stake and heap of stones, then ranged south 68 degrees east 30 rods and 3/4 to a stake and heap of stones, and from there ranged south 56 degrees east 13 rods to a stake and heap of stones standing by the highway, and bounding by the highway 4 rods to the bounds first mentioned at the south-east corner of his lot.

The fifth share had been distributed to Joseph Bolton and contained about 3/4 of an acre of land lying on the south side and joining to the lot distributed to Joseph's brother Nicholas. It began at the south-east corner at a stake and heap of stones and from there ranged north 56 degrees west 10 rods to a stake and heap of stones, and from there ranged north 71 degrees west 31 rods to a stake and heap of stones, and from there ranged south 30 degrees west 5 rods and 1/2 to a stake and heap of stones, and from there ranged south 78 degrees east 31 rods to a stake and heap of stones standing by an apple tree which was the north-west corner of her mother's share that contained the Bolton house, and from there ranged south 56 degrees east 7 rods to a stake and heap of stones standing by the highway, and from there bounding by the highway 4 rods to the bounds first mentioned at the south-east corner of her lot.

The seventh share had been distributed to Elizabeth (Bolton) May, the wife of Michael May of Bridgewater, and contained about 3/4 of an acre of land. It was on the south side of the lot distributed to her older sister, Sarah, and was bounded at the west end by the lands which contained the Bolton house, beginning at the north-west corner of the house land at a stake and heap of stones standing near an apple tree, and from there ranged north 78 degrees west 31 rods to a stake and heap of stones, and from there ranged south 30 degrees west 5 rods to a stake and heap of stones standing by the highway, and then bounding by the highway 31 rods to a stake and heap of stones standing about 1 rod from the south-west corner of the Bolton house, and from there ranged north 30 degrees east 4 rods and 1/4 to the bounds first mentioned at the north-west corner of the house land.6 
Court Action*19 September 1732A presentment, a formal legal statement, was submitted to the Plymouth County Court of General Sessions against Jonathan Washburn, a yeoman of Bridgewater, accusing him of assaulting his neighbor John Bolton. The presentment accused Washburn of assaulting Bolton, also a yeoman of Bridgewater, who was "then in peace and going in the execution of his office to serve three executions on said Washburne." Bolton said that the defendant struck him "with a long stick or pole... upon the Right arm" on 19 September 1732.7 
(2nd Neighbor) Will27 May 1755Jonathan's neighbor, John Bolton, wrote a will dated 27 May 1755 in Bridgewater, Plymouth County, in New England, naming his five daughters his primary beneficiaries. The twenty acres he bequeathed to his daughter Ruth Leach was described as adjoining to Jonathan's land, beginning along the road and running to the river.8,9,10,11
