He appointed his son Thomas and son-in-law, James Scout, his Executors. To his wife Sarah, he bequeathed £18 per year "Cow 7c.";

Zachariah's father prepared his will naming his wife, Sarah, his son, Thomas Lewis, and his daughters, Rachel Heaton, Sarah Kelly, Fanny Scout, Anna Thompson and Rebecca Roberts. He appointed his son Thomas and son-in-law, James Scout, his Executors. To his daughter Rachel Heaton's children, he bequeathed £100; to his daughter Sarah Kelly's children, he bequeathed £130; to his daughter Fanny Scout's children, he bequeathed £100; to Anna Thompson's children, he bequeathed £100; to his daughter Rebecca Roberts's children, he bequeathed £130; and to his son Thomas, he bequeathed the 100 acres he then lived on, for life, and then to his children. The witnesses to his will were Robert Shewell and Eliza Currie.1
