(Mentioned) Will2 June 1803The son of Ezekiel Palmer of Woodstock, Vermont, John Hooper Palmer, was named as a beneficiary in the will of John Hooper dated 2 June 1803 in Plymouth County, Massachusetts. No further identification of the heir was made in the will and his relationship to the testator is not known. The bequest made to John Palmer was for one-third of the sale of the remainder, after paying all just debts, funeral and other charges, of John Hooper's personal estate not otherwise bequeathed. The other two-thirds of the remainder were bequeathed to two nephews.1

Burial*Thomas and Grace (Palmer) Minor were both buried in Wequetequock Cemetery, Stonington. Their grave was covered by a "wolfstone", consisting of a large granite slab which it is believed he selected for the purpose from his own field. On one side of the stone an inscription read: "Here lyeth the body of Lieutenant Thomas Minor, aged 83 years. Departed 1690". His wife, Grace, who died just two months after her husband, was buried beside Thomas, and the opposite side of the stone was inscribed for her.1

He had served in the militia and worked as a farmer. The other non-family member was Oren P. Haskins, who was 6 years old, and had lived in Iowa for nine months.1 
Census US 1860*10 July 1860Magdalena and Samuel Brumbaugh were enumerated on the 1860 census taken on 10 July 1860 in Buffalo, Scott County, Iowa. Samuel, who was recorded with no occupation, was 56 years of age and owned real estate valued at $2,000 and had a personal estate valued at $1,000. Magdalena was 54 years of age. Two of their daughters and a son-in-law were enumerated with them in 1860. Their daughter, Mary, had married Abram Libby in November of 1856 and were enumerated as a separate family in the Brumbaugh home. Mary was 23 years of age and Abram was age 30. Samuel and Magdalena's youngest daughter, Lydia, was 11 years old and had attended school within the census year.7

Britt, for and in consideration of $50 to them in hand, the receipt is hereby acknowledged, have bargained and sold, and by these presents do bargain, sell and convey unto the said Robert Taylor, a certain tract or parcel of land lying in Barren County on little Glovers Creek adjoining Picken's Mill and bounded as follows: Beginning at a stooping poplar, thence North 56 poles to a poplar and dogwood, South 53 degrees East 88 poles to a white oak, saw wood and dogwood on a hillside South 47 degrees West 24 poles to a small poplar at Tinsley corner, then on the Tinsley's line South 83 degrees West 34 poles to a white oak, South 59 degrees West 52 poles to a white oak and South 79 degrees West 42 poles to a hickory and three dogwoods at Tinsley's corner on road, thence North 49¼ degrees East 72 poles to the beginning, containing 25 acres more or less. The successor clerk of Barren County added his note that the deed of Mary Britt senior, John Britt, Nancy Bridges, Joseph Pardue, Mary Britt junior, and William H. Pardue, was proven on 19 September 1843 before his predecessor by the oath of Samuel Perkins, a subscribing witness thereto, to be the act and deed of the grantors, and on 19 August 1844 was fully proven before said predecessor by the oath of Joseph Stephens, another subscribing witness thereto, to be the act and deed of said grantors. Wherefore the deed and certification were recorded on 23 June 1853 in Barren County, Kentucky.2

And the said Mary Britt, John Britt, Nancy Bridges, Joseph Pardue, Mary Britt junior, and William H. Pardue, for themselves and their heirs and for George Britt, Eliza Britt and William Y. Britt, for themselves and their heirs, do all of them, severally and individually, hereby covenant and agree to warrant and forever defend the aforesaid premises with all its appurtenances and improvements unto the said Robert Taylor, his heirs and assigns forever, free from and against the claims of themselves and against the claims of themselves and against the claims of George Britt, Eliza Britt and William Y. Britt and against the claim or claims of all or any person or persons whomsoever.

In testimony whereof, the said Mary Britt, John Britt, Nancy Bridges, Joseph Pardue, Mary Britt junior, William H. Pardue, George Britt, Eliza Britt and William Y. Britt, have hereunto set their hands and seals the day and date first above written.

X marks were made and sealed by Mary Britt senior, John Britt, Nancy Bridges, Joseph Pardue, Mary Britt junior, William H. Pardue, George Britt, Eliza Britt and William Y. Britt, all on 15 August 1843.

The successor clerk of Barren County added his note that the deed of Mary Britt senior, John Britt, Nancy Bridges, Joseph Pardue, Mary Britt junior, and William H. Pardue, was proven on 19 September 1843 before his predecessor by the oath of Samuel Perkins, a subscribing witness thereto, to be the act and deed of the grantors, and on 19 August 1844 was fully proven before said predecessor by the oath of Joseph Stephens, another subscribing witness thereto, to be the act and deed of said grantors. Wherefore the deed and certification were recorded on 23 June 1853 in Barren County, Kentucky.7 
(3rd Brother-in-Law) Land Records25 June 1854An indenture was made on 25 June 1854 in Barren County, Kentucky, between George W. Britt and his wife Nancy, Rebecca (Britt) Pardue, wife of William Henry Pardue, and William Y. Britt of the first part, and William F. Austin of the second part.

Witnesseth that for the consideration of $100 in hand paid to said George W. Britt, the parties of the first part have bargained and sold and hereby convey to said Austin, a certain tract of land lying in Barren County, Kentucky on the waters of little Glovers Creek containing 25 acres, and being the same that the widow and heirs of Benjamin Britt, deceased, conveyed to Robert Taylor and said Taylor conveyed back to said George W. Britt. The said Rebecca not having joined in said deed to said Taylor as one of the heirs of said Benjamin Britt, and the said William Y. being under 21 years of age, they, for the consideration expressed in said deed to said Taylor, joined in the deed to said Austin, said William Y. being now 21 years of age.

G. W. Brit signed and sealed his name and X marks were made and sealed by Nancy Britt, William Y. Britt and Rebecca Pardue, all on 26 June 1854.

The clerk of Barren County certified that the deed from George W. Britt and his wife Nancy, William Y. Britt and Mrs. Pardue to William F. Austin was produced by them and acknowledged by the said grantors to be their act and deed. Whereupon the deed and certification were recorded on 27 June 1854.8
