(Occupation Clue) CLUE? IdentityJosiah Leonard and Enoch Leonard were first cousins and in related occupations in Bridgewater. Josiah was a leather maker and Enoch a shoemaker. As we work to identify the origins of our "Brick Wall" William Leonard, it's possible that his occupation may provide a clue. William, like Enoch, was a shoemaker in Bridgewater, and later in life in Taunton, as was his son James. Josiah and Enoch were both grandsons of John Leonard and great grandsons of Solomon Leonard, both of Bridgewater.

During the same period, however, the occupations among the Taunton Leonards often dealt with iron ore, iron making, iron working and iron refining.8,9,10,11,12,13,14,15
