Alfred was 22 years of age, had immigrated from Canada in 1896, was not yet naturalized, and worked for wages as a Teamster in the Grocery Industry. Elizabeth was 19 years old. They rented their home, had been married for less than a year, the first marriage for each, and Elizabeth had given birth to no children. A boarder, Gustav Wagenhoffer, was also enumerated with them in 1910. He was 20 years old, single, and worked for wages as a Teamster in the Roofing Industry.5 
Census US 1920*3 January 1920Elizabeth and Alfred Ward were enumerated on the 1920 census taken on 3 January 1920 at 3121 Meyer Avenue, Cleveland, Cuyahoga County, Ohio. Alfred was 31 years of age, a naturalized citizen of the United States, and worked for wages as a roofer in the Building Trade. Elizabeth was 29 years of age. They rented their home, and their two sons were enumerated with them in 1920. William and Elmer, ages 9 and 6 years, respectively, had both attended school within the census year. A boarder, Gustav Wagenhoffer, was also enumerated with the Ward family in 1920. He was 29 years of age, had been born in Bohemia, had immigrated to the United States in 1910, and had submitted his papers for citizenship. He was able to read and write, and to speak English, and worked for wages as a driver in the Trucking Industry.1 
Divorce*1920Alfred Ward and Elizabeth (Fraundorf) Ward were divorced, probably in 1920, and not in 1919 as was recorded in 1929 on her license to marry a second time. Our reason for this conclusion is that Elizabeth and Alfred were enumerated together, and reported as married, on the 1920 census taken on 3 January 1920.7,1
